The story

Every detail, considered.

Bookmatched marble does the structural work here. It is the surface the eye lands on first and the thing the rest of the palette is arranged around. That is why the timber panelling is dark enough to hold its own beside it.

The stair is the other decision. Floating treads in a house of this scale turn circulation into the sculpture at the centre of the plan. Everything curved in the furniture programme answers to it. Ambient lighting is built into the architecture, which lights the stone without any fittings hanging in front of it.
