The story

Every detail, considered.

Four levels of pale blue cabinetry and white marble, held together by arched openings that repeat as you move up through the house. The restraint is the point: the mouldings are traditional in profile but pared back, so the rooms read as classical without becoming period rooms.

Mosaic appears in small quantities and only where it is worth stopping for. It is the one decorative gesture in a scheme that otherwise depends on proportion and on the way daylight moves across a luminous stone.
