Private international design sourcing for considered interiors
International design sourcing is offered on select full-service projects, and principal designer Tammy Brazel leads each trip in person. The point of the trip is to choose natural stone, furniture, lighting, finishes and one-of-a-kind pieces directly from specialist suppliers, makers and stone yards.

We weigh every selection against the architecture, proportions, palette and intended atmosphere of the project. The aim is materials and objects that belong in the finished interior, which rules out a haul of unrelated statement pieces.
A limited service for select projects
Private international sourcing is not part of every Luxxe Interiors engagement. The studio considers it for full-service projects where the scale, design direction and sourcing needs justify the trip.
Where the trip goes depends on the project. It may take in stone yards, furniture showrooms, artisan workshops, specialist manufacturers and international design fairs.
We quote travel, accommodation, supplier appointments and sourcing fees separately, before confirming any trip.
Sourcing without procurement
Sourcing means finding, reviewing and selecting the right material or piece. Procurement means placing orders and managing payment, freight, customs, delivery and installation. Luxxe Interiors currently offers the sourcing half only. Once the selections are documented, the client takes it from there.
Where Australian designers actually source from
Most of what reaches an Australian project arrives through three channels. Local trade showrooms carry the international brands under distribution here, which is convenient and priced accordingly. Direct import brings a piece in from a European or American maker, with the lead time and freight that implies. The third is the one worth travelling for: selecting the individual item at the source, before it is allocated to anyone.
Stone is the clearest case. A slab is not a product code. Two slabs cut from different blocks of the same named marble can look almost unrelated, and the only way to know which one you are buying is to stand in front of it. The same is true of a single-maker furniture piece where the timber, the leather or the finish varies batch to batch.
How international sourcing works in practice
The studio establishes what the project needs before anyone books a flight. Sourcing without a resolved plan produces a warehouse of beautiful objects that do not work together.
From there it is a short list of yards and makers, a trip built around them, and selection on the spot with photographs and reference numbers recorded against each piece. Reserving matters as much as choosing: a slab that is not tagged and held will be sold to the next person through the door.
Freight, insurance, customs and inspection on arrival follow. Lead times of three to six months are normal on imported furniture and are not negotiable by paying more.
Bespoke pieces made for the project
Not everything is found. Some of it is drawn: a dining table sized to a room rather than to a catalogue, a bed head that follows a wall, a stone basin cut from an offcut of the slab already used elsewhere in the house. Luxxe Interiors designs these and has them made, working with Gold Coast cabinetmakers and stonemasons on the pieces that suit local fabrication and with overseas makers on the ones that do not.
